Lenka Residency (up to 3 per calendar year)

Open to all female mother artists with children up to 18 yrs of age, with financial need.  We define artist as creative thinker’s visual artists, (the space cannot support sculpture, clay or paper making), dancers, musicians, writers, philosophers, SEA, creative educators, etc.  The residency program is especially interested in interdisciplinary artists whose work provokes positive growth and change in society. The Lenka residency is named after living artist Lenka Clayton who started the residency in mothering, recognizing that mothering is an art form.  This residency includes a stipend to help with the costs of childcare during the residency.

Stipend: $1,000

 

Rebekah Residency (up to 3 per calendar year)

Open to all female artists with financial need.  We define artist as creative thinker’s, visual artists (the space cannot support sculpture, clay or paper making), dancers, musicians, writers, philosophers, SEA, creative educators, etc.  The residency program is especially interested in interdisciplinary artists whose work provokes positive growth and change in society.  The Rebekah residency is named after the Rebekah’s, the first women to join the Odd Fellow’s fraternity.  It recognizes that historically women have had less opportunities then males and in this small way hopes to provide more opportunity for equality.

Odd Fellow Artist Residency  (up to 3 per calendar year)

Open to all male and female artists of exceptional merit.  We define artist as creative thinker’s visual artists (the space cannot support sculpture, clay or paper making), dancers, musicians, writers, philosophers, SEA, creative educators, etc.  The residency program is specifically interested in interdisciplinary artists whose work provokes positive growth and change in society.
Fee: $1,400

Residencies Includes:

  •  Private artist studio or access to loft space for musicians & dancers & performers (loft open May-Oct.)
  • Free access to all loft events and yoga
  • 25% off of all open workshops
  • Directors Dinner, with special community guests
  • A public presentation (open studio/exhibit/presentation/workshop/reading/performance) (for monthly residents)
  • Possibility of leading a children’s art workshop for mixed ages at The Liberi School (for monthly artist residents)
  •  A guest artist blog entry

Application

  • Application fee $15
  • Name which residency you are applying to, please note if you are local and are opting for a live-out residency  
  • If applying for either the Rebekah or Lenka residency you must also include a copy of your most recent tax return
  • List top three month choices in order (residencies begin on the first Monday of each month and run four weeks) Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with a thirty day turn around decision
  • Max 300 word essay about the work you imagine creating while at residency and why it provokes positive change or growth in society
  • Max 300 word bio
  • 12 images of recent work (last three years) or up to 10 min video, 8 pages of writing
  •  Two personal references
  • Link to artist website, or any other web based material you want us to consider
