An exhibit featuring female artists exploring the landscape as source material in response to Simon Schama's Landscape and Memory. Schama presents landscape as an Arcadian and largely masculine concept projected onto the natural world, in contrast to land, earth and raw matter.
A piano performance by artist Isaac Green Diebboll
Isaac Green Diebboll will perform his original spirited artwork, played and performed on our antique and original piano found in Instar Lodge for one night only. There is limited seating, RSVP HERE.
"Each piano has a voice. Each unique with a sound and a temper. What I play with the keys on each piano are patterns - a series of motions, attempts to commune with my deceased father, an architect who had designed pianos in the later years of his life. What results when I play, more than anything, is a relationship between the son, the piano and the father." - Isaac Green Diebboll
Instar Lodge is proud to present The Tragic Instant, a thought-provoking art exhibit for April located at Basilica Back Gallery. This exhibit catalyzes rage, heartbreak and despair.
Seven artists (and friends) converse multi-disciplinary works that explore the strange urgency of instants. These two weekends present many opportunities for dialog with performances, dinner conversations, and open house discussions.
