The Best of Joanie4Jackie

Housed in a secret room on the Bard campus lies an archive of short videos, films, and ‘zines made by girls and young women.  This project was created to champion and collect the work of nascent female filmmakers was begun by filmmaker and writer Miranda July in the nineties and was taken over by the faculty, staff, and students of the Bard Film and Electronic Arts program ten years later. Tonight we look at some of the gems in the collection.

FREE RANGE FILMS is A monthly screening series of Hudson Valley based films and videos curated by Jacqueline Goss paired with desserts featuring locally grown foods prepared by private chef Giovanni Iacono from Farm Table.

Jacqueline Goss is a filmmaker who lives in Tivoli. Her most recent project is “Hart’s Location,” a short film about the New Hampshire presidential primary.  She teaches in the Film and Electronic Arts program at Bard College.

Giovanni Iacono is the in house Private Chef at Instar Lodge. Iacono a native of Sicily, Italy launched Farm Table in 2012, a private chef drop-off meal business that supports local Hudson Valley farms while providing gourmet, prepared meals that families can enjoy together.
