HER STORY: Noava Knight—Owner/Designer of Humane Imperfection
Friday, Dec. 9th at 7pm: Join us for an evening of story.
Instar Lodge will be hosting a quarterly Woman-Artist-Entrepreneur Story hour, inviting exceptional women to casually share their story of enterprise and mission with community over warm drinks and snacks. We believe we learn in many ways, and while there are 100’s of how-to become what you want books, we believe that really we learn “how-to-become-ourselves” through the inspiring personal stories of courage, synchronicity, and ambition that forms successful enterprise.
Noava Knight will share her story, including; learning disability, running a charity thrift store, becoming involved in local politics, winning grants for learning with traditional Peruvian women, becoming a seamstress assistant, mentorship with designer Valerie Beggs, and learning about American manufacturing and how all this threaded together to create Humane Imperfection.
Humane imperfection was started in the winter of 2015 with a few key ideas: American-made unisex luxury travel bags designed for simplicity, comfort, and durability. All bags are produced ethically and responsibly in small batches using recycled all natural fabrics. We are in collaboration with Woolrich, and this has the added advantage of making each of our products limited edition as we re-purpose these unique woolen fabrics. Our products are made in central PA about 20min from the mills, which helps us to cut down on our ecological foot print.
