Early July Field in a Vase by Valerie Shaff

400.00

A beautiful contemporary photograph of field flowers, lit by the falling light of the day.  Each are digitally printed on archival canvas, and framed in a circular wooden frame by the artist measuring 13.5" round.  These precious gems nod to early Dutch paintings and blur the lines of time and reality--fitting perfectly in any home now.

Valerie Shaff's career as a photographer has spanned the worlds of fine art, publishing and advertising . She has had shows of her work at Bridgewater Lustberg Gallery NYC , Carrie Haddad Gallery Hudson , James Barker Gallery Nantucket Island , Springfield Art Museum , Springfield MO amongst others and has been included in many group shows including at the National Museum of Photography , Motion Pictures and Television in Bradford England . She has published 4 books of her animal portraits in collaboration with the writer Roy Blount Jr.

Though her photographic endeavors have been varied, most all speak clearly of the natural world . From her pinhole landscapes shot from the perspective of one dwelling close to the earth, to the work she is well known for, monumentalizing species other than human, her reverence for her subjects is translated to a classical , if not romantic, expression. Valerie seeks in her portraits to introduce the viewer to the very soul of each subject . This quality of her work has gained her great recognition in both the private sector and public, through her commissions and books and exhibitions in both the US and abroad.
